Who We Are

We are a multicultural group of believers who love God, His Word, and each other. We are simply Christians who want to grow in the likeness of Jesus and spread the good news of His saving grace to others.

Our Mission

Reach, teach, and lead to spiritual maturity those seeking Jesus

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

Matthew 28: 19-20

Our Vision

The church will

  • teach the highest priority of any believer is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30)

  • love and respect God’s Word as the only authority for holy living (II Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119)

  • demonstrate love and acceptance to all  (John 13:34-35)

  • motivate members to pray about everything (Philippians 4:6)

  • encourage deep personal and group Bible study in the quest for spiritual maturity and authentic relationship with Jesus (II Timothy 2:15)

  • equip members to fulfill God’s commission  to them (Matthew 28:19-20)

  • foster an environment of peace and refuge for all (Colossians 3:15; Hebrews 6:18)

  • nurture strong family relationships, with God at the family’s center (Genesis 18:19)

  • promote fellowship and friendship with the understanding that the church is a family (Hebrews 2:11; Colossians 3:16)

Core Values

Adherence to the Bible

We diligently study the Bible as the inspired Word of God to find out what the will of God is (Ephesians 5:10; II Timothy 2:15, 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7-10).

Benevolence

Christ ministered to the poor and afflicted, James defines it as “pure religion,” and we believe we must do the same (James 1:27; Matthew 25:36; Luke 7:22, 14:13).

Compassion

Jesus had compassion for everyone, so we aim to show compassion to the lost as well as to believers (Matthew 9:36, 15:32; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:12).

Devotion to the Sovereign Lord

We exalt the Lord our God and strive to love Him with our whole hearts (Mark 12:33; Psalm 7:17, 71:16, 138:1-2; 2 Corinthians 11:3).

Excellence

Everything we do is for the glory of God and a witness to the unbeliever (Colossians 3:17,23; I Peter 2:12).

 We believe . . .

  • That the one holy God, existing in three equal eternal persons (Father,Son, and Holy Spirit), created and sustains the universe (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 1:3)

  • That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, became a man, gave himself for our sins, was raised and was taken up to sit at the right hand of God where he remains today interceding for us (Colossians 1:13-20; Philippians 2:6-8; Galatians 1:4; Romans 8:34)

  • That Jesus is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

  • That the promised Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 1:13; Romans 15:13)

  • That the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit as the final authority on all matters of faith (IITimothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)

  • That the church is the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:27-28; Ephesians 5:29-30)

  • That we are saved by grace, through faith, not works (Ephesians 2:5, 8-9)

  • That those who hear and accept the good news of Jesus respond with confession of their faith, repentance of sin, baptism for forgiveness of sin, and a life lived to glorify God (Romans 10:9-10; Acts 2:36-39; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 6:20; I Peter 2:11-12)

  • That although we are called to worship God 24/7, the church worships in community on the first day of the week through singing, prayer, preaching, giving, communion, and the reading of Scripture (Acts 2:42; Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 16:2; Ephesians 5:19-20; I Timothy 4:13)

  • That Christ will return on a day known only to God the Father (Matthew 24:42-44; I Thessalonians 5:1-2), and we will all stand before the judgment seat of God to give an account of ourselves (Romans 14:10-12; II Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:31-32)

 What to expect:

  • You should find a friendly welcome from a group encouraged by your visit.

  • Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing. You will find a variety of dress styles among members.

  • There is a class for children at 10:00am on Sunday while the teens and adults have a Bible study. Feel free to ask questions and make comments.

  • You are encouraged to check all Bible references, so bring your own Bible to follow along, if you have one. If you don’t have one, we will give you one.

  • We sing a cappella (without instruments), so come ready to sing with all your heart and make a joyful noise to the Lord, even if you can’t carry a tune :)

  • We share communion to remember Christ’s sacrifice for us each Sunday, and all are welcome to participate.

  • Prayer is important to us. If you have a prayer request, please share it with us after the lesson.

  • Since we don’t have a building, we gather in a circle in beach/camp chairs or at tables under a pavilion; bring a chair if you would like to.

MAUI FIRES ~ AUGUST 2023

Immediately after the devastating fires that destroyed Lahaina and caused significant damage in Kula, our congregation has sought to help those affected, starting with our own members and through emergency community shelters.

We praise God for all the good and effective work that is being done by various organizations and churches in Maui; and as a small body of believers (without a building and the benefit that could be in this sitaution), we have been seeking God’s will for the best use of our resources to provide relief in the suffering.

Also immediately, we were inundated with concerned inquiries from churches and individuals across the USA and in other countries. People want to help. As donations continue to pour in, we have ensured transparent accounting of what has been received and what is being spent.

Some of the ways we have participated so far: water to Kula elementary; shoes and books for Lahaina kids (relocated to Waihee Elementary); food, clothing, and necessary supplies to distribution/encampment centers (Napili, Pohaku, Honokawai) and individuals in the Lahaina area. We are looking for ways to meet needs not being met through government and other agencies, for places that our members can serve and pray for the displaced and hurting. If you want to know more, please contact us.

All Welcome
